CHARLESTOWN H.S. – The Columbus East Olympian softball team continued their road stretch with authority on Tuesday night, dismantling the 3A #11 Charlestown Pirates 11-1. Behind a career-best performance from Baleigh Fish both in the circle and at the plate, the Olympians showcased a potent blend of power and precision. The Baleigh Fish Show It was a standout night for Baleigh Fish, who effectively took over the game in every phase. At the Plate: Fish was unstoppable, finishing a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBIs. Her biggest swing came in the second inning—a towering three-run home run to center field that broke the game wide open and extended the East lead to 5-1. In the Circle: On the mound, Fish was just as dominant. She pitched a complete six-inning game, allowing only one earned run on six hits. She displayed excellent command throughout the evening, racking up 10 strikeouts while issuing only one walk. Offensive Avalanche While Fish led the charge, the Olympian lineup was relentless, racking up 13 hits as a unit. Natasha Armstrong was a force in the middle of the order, going 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs. Lola Watkins set the table effectively from the center field position, recording two hits and scoring two runs. Thaise Jessup provided a spark with an RBI single and drew one of the team's walks, finishing the night with two runs scored. Jacque Boroughs and Taylor Wessel also joined the hit parade, with Boroughs and Armstrong each tagging doubles. Notably, courtesy runner Emma Armstrong played a vital role in the high-scoring affair, crossing the plate three times for the Olympians. Defensive Excellence The Olympians played a "clean" game in the field, recording zero errors over six innings. Catcher Thaise Jessup was a wall behind the plate, handling 11 total chances flawlessly to support Fish’s double-digit strikeout performance. Next Up: The Olympians will look to carry this momentum into their next road test as they travel to take on Bloomington North this Thursday, April 2.
