Event Overview & Location Event: 1st Annual Crawford County Cross Country Kickoff Invitational Date: Saturday, August 29, 2026 Location: Crawford County High School, 1130 South St. Rd. 66, Marengo, IN 47140 Course: Michael Esarey Cross Country Course (Designed by Alan Cox) Race Schedule (Eastern Time) | Race | Start Time | Field Details | | High School Girls Varsity | 9:00 AM | 8 entries allowed per team; top 7 score | High School Boys Varsity | 9:30 AM | 8 entries allowed per team; top 7 score | High School JV | 10:00 AM | Separate or combined based on final entry totals | Races operate on a rolling schedule and start immediately following the conclusion of the previous race. Spectator Logistics & Admission: Admission: $6.00 per person (**Cash only**). Parking: Spectator parking is located on campus with three main entrance points (Ticket Entrances 1, 2, and 3). Handicapped parking and team drop-off are available near the athletic facilities. Concessions & Apparel: Full concessions will be open (Credit cards accepted). Official invitational t-shirts will be available for purchase. Restrooms: Permanent restroom facilities are available near the main course, with additional porta-pots positioned near the start line. Course Layout & Viewing: Terrain: Accurate distance cross-country terrain with rolling-to-hilly ground, sharp turns, and wooded trails. This course hosts the IHSAA Sectional & Regional meets. High School Course: Consists of 2 full laps. Follow BROWN signage for mile and kilometer markers. Team Tents: Set up on a first-come, first-served basis in designated spaces near the start or finish line areas. Timing & Awards Timing: Electronic chip timing is managed by On Target Race Timing. High School Awards: Top 50 individual finishers for boys and girls (Medals for top 25). Team trophies for top 7 teams. JV Races: No individual or team awards are presented for JV races.
