Columbus East High School

In their third meet of the season, the Columbus East Lady O's swimming and diving team triumphed over the Shelbyville Golden Bears with a solid 105-57 win. Key contributors to this success included great performances by Connelly Furnish and Gabbie Meier. Connelly Furnish showcased her prowess by claiming victory in both the 200 IM, clocking in at 2 minutes and 19.41 seconds, and the 500 freestyle with an impressive time of 5 minutes and 23.91 seconds. Gabbie Meier demonstrated her excellence in both diving, scoring 201.20, and the 100 breaststroke, finishing with a time of 1 minute and 19.30 seconds, further solidifying the Lady O's lead. Additional notable performances from the Olympians included Abby Proffitt's triumph in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1 minute and 12.59. The team showcased collective strength by sweeping the 200 medley relay with a time of 2 minutes and 7.62 seconds, the 200 freestyle relay in 1 minute and 56.99 seconds, and the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 4 minutes and 10.07 seconds.
