The Columbus East boys golf team closed out their season Friday at the IHSAA Golf Sectional 28 hosted at Greensburg Country Club, finishing 5th overall with a team score of 322. The O's battled throughout the morning and were competitive throughout the day. The team was led by standout Mason Reeves, who fired a 72, good enough to earn him one of the three individual qualifying spots to advance to the regional tournament. Reeves’ performance placed him among the top individual scorers not on an advancing team, continuing his impressive senior campaign and keeping East represented in the postseason. Other scoring Olympians included: Carter Greene – 81 Ethan Bumbalough – 84 Braxton Burton – 85 Luke Rice – 88 Only the top three teams advanced to the regional as full squads. But Reeves’ steady play under pressure earned him a well-deserved spot among the top individual performers of the day. He’ll now move on to compete in the IHSAA Regionals, continuing to represent Orange Nation on the course.
