The Columbus East girls golf team came out on top in its cross-town showdown Tuesday evening, edging Columbus North 216–221 at Otter Creek Golf Course. Abby King set the pace for the Olympians with a career-best round, firing a 45 on the North Nine course to earn medalist honors. Her strong play anchored an East lineup that put together one of its best team efforts of the season. Backing up King were Amaylie Walsh, Calleigh Gill, and Sofia Perez, who each carded 57. Emma Gill added a 61, while Kolbi Stephenson contributed a 63 to complete the scoring for East. The O's steady performances across the board helped the Olympians secure bragging rights in the annual rivalry match. The balanced team effort helped the O's secure the victory and provided momentum heading into the postseason. Speaking about post-season! It's hard to believe the girls golf regular season has concluded and IHSAA Sectional play is upon us. The Olympians will look to keep slicing strokes off their game, starting this Monday, September 22nd when the Olympians head to Bloomington, IN to play at Cascades G.C. in the 2025 IHSAA Sectional hosted by Bloomington North H.S. Match time is set for 8:30 a.m. Advancement to IHSAA Regionals: Top three teams who post a team score; Ties for top three teams must be resolved in order to advance. Top three low individuals excluding those individuals who advance with a team. Ties for 3rd place must be played off in order to advance. GOOD LUCK OLYMPIANS!!
