The Columbus East Olympian boys soccer team showed resilience Tuesday night, battling back from an early deficit to defeat Franklin Community, 2-1. The visiting Grizzly Cubs struck first, taking a 1-0 lead just 10 minutes into the match. East held firm the rest of the half but went into the break trailing by a goal. The Olympians found their spark early in the second half when David Sylva buried a penalty kick in the 50th minute to even the score. The match remained level until the 68th minute, when Farid Garcia Renteria delivered the game-winning strike off a setup from Emilio Quintero Aguirre. GREAT COMEBACK O'S!! In the junior varsity match, the Olympians also came away victorious, 2-1, with goals from Robby Orgass and Levi Oliver. The Olympians are back in action Thursday night when they host the Jennings County Panthers.
