The Columbus East boys tennis team turned in solid efforts in singles play Wednesday night at the Columbus East tennis complex. At No. 2 singles, Kai Bergmann earned a straight-set victory, 6-3, 7-6 (5), closing out the match with steady play in the tiebreaker. Landon Redelman delivered a comeback win at No. 3 singles, rallying after a first-set loss to take the final two sets convincingly, 4-6, 6-0, 6-2. Trevor Ernst battled at the top singles position, while the doubles teams of Michael Reed and Micah Wettschurack, along with Carson Hartsook and Cooper Harry, competed through challenging matches. Although the Olympians came up just short in the overall team score, the victories by Bergmann and Redelman stood out as highlights of the evening. The O's get back to work tonight, Thursday, Sept. 18th when they travel to Seymour, IN to face the Seymour Owls in a conference match up. Start time: 5:30 p.m.
